The Deputy Director of Nursing, Midwifery & Aged Care (DDONMAC) is a Registered Nurse/Midwife who is responsible for the oversight of acute and aged care operations at Portland District Health. The DDONMAC provides professional and operational support to the Executive Director of Clinical Services to deliver quality and safe patient, client and resident care.
The DDONMAC is accountable for leading the daily clinical services and managing human and financial resources for functions including After-Hours Coordinators, Perioperative Services, South ward, North ward, Urgent Care Centre, Access and Intake and Residential Aged Care.

About You
- Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with current NMBA registration
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a nursing management role with good knowledge of relevant EBA and legislative requirements in particular relating to the Safe Patient Care Act
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of access and flow principles and understanding of contemporary approaches
- Demonstrated experience in budget and KPI development, review and monitoring
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality improvement and safety and clinical governance principles; and their application to risk management within a healthcare environment, including formulating new approaches and developing comprehensive implementation strategies for nursing services.
- Contemporary knowledge of workforce, HR principles, industrial relations, and an understanding of the relevant industrial instruments
