Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).

The MSF movement is built around 5 operational centers supported by 24 sections and offices worldwide. MSF Operational Center Geneva (MSF OCG) is one of these centres.

The Digital Unit is one of the eight professional units within the Communications and Fundraising Department. Based across Geneva and Zurich, it brings together eight staff members. Its mission is to develop and retain audiences across digital channels in order to strengthen MSF’s communications and support donor acquisition. It is also responsible for the design, development, and administration of MSF’s digital ecosystem.

We are looking for a Digital Acquisition Officer. In this role, you manage operational activities with accuracy, judgment, and accountability. You ensure that processes run smoothly, data and documentation are reliable, and compliance standards are met. You also identify opportunities to streamline or improve day-to-day operations within your area of responsibility.


Job Purpose


Develop and implement MSF Switzerland’s digital acquisition strategy to generate new leads and acquire new donors through digital channels. Design and optimize acquisition offers, conversion journeys, and campaign performance to maximize fundraising results and support sustainable donor growth.


Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition of the digital acquisition strategy for regular giving, one-off giving and lead generation.
  • Lead end-to-end digital acquisition projects, from concept and planning through implementation, monitoring and performance evaluation, coordinating internal stakeholders and external specialists as required.
  • Develop and manage lead generation offers and conversion journeys to attract, engage and convert prospective supporters into donors.
  • Develop and implement email conversion campaigns and automated supporters’ journeys to nurture leads and increase donor acquisition.
  • Define and implement paid media strategies across relevant digital platforms, balancing brand awareness and fundraising objectives to maximize acquisition performance (leads and donations), cost per acquisition and long term value.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies and partners, providing strategic direction, challenging performance, and ensuring delivery against acquisition objectives (creative, UX design, developers, paid media agency…).
  • Monitor, analyse and optimise acquisition and lead conversion performance, leveraging audience insights, campaign data and testing methodologies to continuously improve results.
  • Collaborate closely with fundraising and communication teams to ensure alignment of acquisition activities with organizational objectives and supporter engagement strategies.

Your profile

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Digital Communication, Fundraising or related fiel, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

  • Experience managing digital acquisition or fundraising campaigns.
  • Experience acquiring new donors and generating leads through digital channels.
  • Experience developing and managing paid media strategies.
  • Experience coordinating multiple digital projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience working with external agencies and service providers.

Languages

Essential

  • Native proficiency in French or Swiss German
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken

Desired:

  • Both French and Swiss German is an asset

Skills/ Technical competencies

  • Knowledge of major paid media platforms and products (Google Ads, Performance Max, Demand Gen, Meta Advantage+, LinkedIn Ads, etc.).
  • Understanding of supporter engagement, audience segmentation and conversion journeys.
  • Understanding of CRM and donor database principles.
  • Knowledge of digital analytics, attribution models and campaign tracking.
  • Knowledge of email marketing and marketing automation tools.
  • Understanding of landing page optimization and conversion rate optimization (CRO).

Personal Abilities/Qualities

  • Project management and prioritization.

  • Copywriting and content development for digital fundraising.

Terms of employment

  • Full-time position 100% (40h/week)
  • Open-ended contract
  • Working place: Geneva or Zurich
  • Ideal start date: 5th of January 2027
  • Gross annual salary (for 100%): from CHF 87’372.- to CHF 100’608.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid)
  • Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorate temporis, plus any Swiss public holidays falling within the contract period.
  • Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by staff member.
  • Relocation support available for eligible candidates.
