Digital Print & Finishing Operator – Books (Dubai)

Ciel Book Distribution is setting up an in-house digital print room in Al Quoz to produce short runs of paperback books. We are looking for an operator to run it, and we care most about your finishing skills.

What you will do

- Run a Xerox PrimeLink mono production press and a colour press for covers, printing book blocks 4-up on 330 x 488 mm sheets.

- Trim blocks on a programmable hydraulic guillotine, crease and laminate covers, and perfect-bind books on an EVA binder.

- Set up jobs from imposed PDF files, check register, colour and bleed before running.

- Keep the machines maintained: blade changes and sharpening, glue tank care, roller cleaning, consumable stock.

- Deliver finished books that meet trade quality: square spines, clean hinges, accurate trim.

What we are looking for

- 3 or more years in print finishing, ideally in a digital or short-run book environment.

- Hands-on experience with guillotines, creasers, laminators and perfect binders. This matters more to us than press experience.

- Able to read an imposition and work out a cut-and-stack sequence.

- Careful, methodical, and proud of the finished object.

- Experience on Xerox, Fujifilm, Konica or Ricoh production presses is a plus. We will train you on ours.

- Basic PDF and prepress knowledge, such as Acrobat and imposition software, is a plus.
