The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of Australian Red Cross in the Northern Territory. As we embark on an exciting new chapter, underpinned by a refreshed strategy and strengthened governance, we're seeking an exceptional leader to drive our vision, impact, and growth across the region.
As Director, Northern Territory, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Australian Red Cross's humanitarian mission, leading strategy execution and operational performance to deliver meaningful outcomes for communities across the Territory. Combining strategic leadership with operational excellence, you will inspire and empower employees, volunteers, and members to achieve lasting impact, while fostering a high-performing culture grounded in our values and the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
A highly visible and influential leader, you will represent Australian Red Cross across government, community, corporate, and philanthropic sectors, building strong partnerships that enhance our reputation, amplify our impact, and secure sustainable support for our work. You will also work closely with the NT Divisional Council to strengthen local engagement and deepen connections with members, supporters, and communities across the Territory.
You will lead locally while having the opportunity to contribute to national initiatives or drive dedicated nation-wide portfolio areas. Wherever possible, these opportunities will be aligned to the successful applicant’s interests and strengths.
About you
This role will suit a forward-thinking, purpose-driven executive who combines strategic and commercial acumen with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills. Passionate about creating positive social impact, you bring the leadership capability to navigate complexity, drive performance, and inspire others to deliver on a bold vision for the future.
To succeed, you will bring extensive senior leadership experience within a community services or service delivery organisation. You are known for inspiring cultural transformation and building high‑performing teams that deliver strong outcomes for clients and communities.
You bring a contemporary, inclusive approach to stakeholder engagement, with demonstrated experience partnering effectively with local communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Work flexibility: Australian Red Cross offers flexible & hybrid working designed to balance flexibility with purposeful in-office collaboration; strengthen team culture, build trust, and drive engagement. This role is based in our Darwin office, with attendance required ~3 days per week – you choose your days. The remaining 2 days can be worked from home or another suitable location.
