About the opportunity

A global aerospace engine component manufacturer is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead its investment casting facility in Tampa. The company casts critical turbine parts for the aerospace, energy and defense industries, and the site is growing fast after recent new product approvals. You'll join the site leadership team and lead an engineering organization of about 40 people.

What you'll do:

• Lead all site engineering: production and process engineering, tooling, dimensional/layout engineering, NPI, and PMA programs.
• Set and carry out the engineering strategy for capacity growth, yield improvement, and customer commitments.
• Improve yield and cut scrap and rework across core, wax, shell, casting, and post-cast operations.
• Lead automation and digital projects, including robotics, CNC integration, and a TeamCenter/PLM rollout.
• Manage engineering priorities, resources, and capital projects.
• Develop and mentor the engineering managers and team, with a focus on succession planning.
• Work with Operations, Quality, EHS, customers, and regulators on technical and compliance matters (AS9100, export control).

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of engineering leadership in aerospace or industrial gas turbine manufacturing.
• Required: hands-on experience with aerospace investment casting of superalloy turbine components.
• Required: strong knowledge of equiax, directional solidification (DS), and single-crystal (SX) casting.
• Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams of managers, engineers, and technicians.
• A track record of delivering capital, automation, or manufacturing technology projects with measurable results.
• Must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, or asylee/refugee), because of export control rules.

Nice to have:

• Experience with TeamCenter, Siemens NX, SPC, or other digital manufacturing tools.
• Background in NPI, PMA programs, or production scale-ups.
• Advanced degree in Engineering or Engineering Management.
