Director of Maintenance (Part 135)
Location: Naples, FL
Compensation: $200,000+ annually (commensurate with experience)

Lead the Maintenance Operations of a Premier Part 135 Aviation Organization
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Maintenance (DOM) to oversee all maintenance operations for a growing Part 135 aviation organization operating a fleet of approximately 10 aircraft. This is a leadership position responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, aircraft reliability, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of FAA regulations, Part 135 maintenance programs, inspection requirements, and aircraft conformity processes while providing strong leadership to maintenance personnel and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all maintenance activities for a fleet of 10 aircraft.
- Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel, ensuring accountability and performance excellence.
- Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, Part 135 requirements, manufacturer maintenance programs, and company policies.
- Oversee aircraft conformity inspections and submissions for FAA compliance.
- Manage all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events.
- Coordinate and monitor maintenance orders, repairs, alterations, and inspections.
- Develop and maintain aircraft maintenance forecasting programs to maximize fleet availability and minimize downtime.
- Review and audit maintenance records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee inventory management, parts procurement, vendor relationships, and purchasing activities.
- Establish cost controls while maintaining the highest standards of safety and airworthiness.
- Manage work order systems, maintenance tracking platforms, invoicing, and maintenance-related budgets.
- Monitor and audit inspection programs, maintenance vendors, and third-party repair stations.
- Coordinate aircraft downtime schedules with flight operations to support business objectives.
- Serve as the primary liaison with FAA representatives, auditors, maintenance providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure proper documentation and retention of maintenance records and airworthiness directives.
- Lead regulatory audits, inspections, and corrective action initiatives.
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
- Previous experience serving as a Director of Maintenance, Maintenance Manager, or maintenance leadership role within a Part 135 operation.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, Part 91 and Part 135 maintenance requirements.
- Experience managing aircraft conformity inspections and FAA submissions.
- Proven experience overseeing maintenance programs for multiple aircraft.
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning, forecasting, reliability programs, and inspection tracking.
- Experience with inventory control, procurement, and aviation vendor management.
- Ability to manage budgets, maintenance costs, work orders, and invoicing processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong audit, compliance, and quality assurance experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced aviation environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
- Experience managing turbine aircraft fleets.
- Previous experience leading maintenance operations for fleets of 10+ aircraft.
- Familiarity with aviation maintenance tracking software and electronic record systems.
- Experience working directly with FAA Principal Maintenance Inspectors (PMIs).

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
