Job Title: Director of Nursing - Behavioral Health Division/Program: (Youth Inpatient) Psychiatric Health Facility Starting Compensation: 120000 - 135000 USD Per Year Working Location: Bakersfield, CA Working Hours/Shift: Schedule will include, 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day, with core hours from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. What you bring to SBHG: Licensure & Certifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in California. Valid CPR and Pro-ACT certifications (both must be obtained within 30 days of employment). Education & Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required. Your required nursing administration experience is determined by your highest degree: Associate’s degree: Minimum of four (4) years in nursing administration. Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum of two (2) years in nursing administration. Master’s Degree: Minimum of one (1) year in nursing administration. Specialized & Supervisory Experience: At least one (1) year of psychiatric nursing supervisory experience within the past six years. At least one (1) year of experience managing and supervising RNs delivering patient care in a behavioral health setting within the past six years. Prior experience as a Director of Nursing in an acute psychiatric or skilled nursing setting is preferred. Requirements: A valid California Driver’s License and the ability to meet agency driver eligibility criteria. How you will make a difference: Hires, trains, and supervises nursing staff and provides directions to other program staff as needed. Responsible for completion of performance evaluation, progressive discipline, and/or termination as appropriate. Supervises the Direct Nursing Care provided by all Nursing Staff. Ensures staff compliance with CPR, Stars University Annual training, Pro-Act, 5150 and other regulatory requirements Develops and Maintains service objectives, standards of nursing practice, nursing policy and procedure manuals and written job descriptions for all nursing personnel. Overseas physical healthcare services provided by primary care physicians and emergency services provided through local hospitals. Provides nursing care as described in the Registered Nurse job description, as needed to supplement nursing staffing and services. In collaboration with the Clinical Director, ensure YPHF is in compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations pertaining to nursing care and treatment, Clinical Mental Health services and Patient’s Rights. Ensures accurate, complete, and appropriate Nursing Care Plans and other nursing documentation are generated and maintained in a timely manner in the medical record.
