About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Rooms to lead the Rooms Division and shape the overall guest experience at Al Zorah Beach Resort.
As a key member of the resort’s leadership team, the Director of Rooms will oversee Front Office, Guest Services, Concierge, Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Laundry, Spa and related functions.
The role will drive service excellence, operational performance, commercial results, and team development across the division. It will also play an important part in the resort’s future direction, supporting transformation, brand readiness, and long-term planning.
We are looking for a strategic, highly organised, hands-on leader who can translate vision into action, strengthen standards, develop high-performing teams, and lead confidently through change. Experience in pre-opening, rebranding, hotel conversion, renovation, or transition environments will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Rooms Division, setting its direction, priorities, and performance standards.
- Lead and develop the Rooms Division leadership team, ensuring strong succession planning, accountability, and a high-performance culture.
- Shape the end-to-end guest journey and drive consistent luxury service across all Rooms Division touchpoints.
- Translate the resort’s business objectives into clear divisional strategies, operational plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Own the financial performance of the division, including budgeting, forecasting, labour productivity, cost control, and revenue contribution.
- Partner with Revenue, Sales, Reservations, Finance, Engineering, and other departments to maximise occupancy, rate, profitability, and overall resort performance.
- Lead continuous improvement across service standards, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and quality performance.
- Guide the Rooms Division through transformation, renovation, rebranding, pre-opening, or brand-readiness initiatives.
- Oversee workforce planning, leadership development, engagement, and retention across the division.
- Contribute actively to the resort’s long-term strategy, capital planning, and major operational decisions as a member of the leadership team.
- Ensure strong governance, risk management, safety, compliance, and operational resilience across the Rooms Division.
- Act as a visible senior leader and brand ambassador for guests, employees, business partners, and the wider resort community.
Qualifications & Experience
- A proven track record in senior Rooms Division leadership within a luxury resort environment.
- At least 8 to 10 years of progressive hospitality experience, including significant responsibility for Front Office, Housekeeping, and the wider guest journey.
- Experience leading pre-opening, repositioning, renovation, rebranding, conversion, or major operational change is a plus.
- Strong commercial judgement, with hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, labour productivity, cost control, and revenue optimisation.
- A credible and inspiring leadership style, with a strong record of developing leaders, building accountable teams, and raising standards.
- Exceptional organisational discipline, sound decision-making, and the confidence to lead through complexity and pressure.
- Experience leading multicultural teams in an international hospitality environment.
- Strong command of English is required. Fluency in Arabic, Russian, or other relevant languages will be considered an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Opera, Microsoft Office, and hotel operating systems.
