Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Director, Programs 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on our Strike Program . In this role the candidate will report directly to Director 2 of Modernization and will have profit & loss (P&L) responsibility for execution of a restricted portfolio of RF capabilities. This role is in person supporting a 9/80 work schedule at our Melbourne, FL site, and requires an active in-scope DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance to start. The program leader is responsible for leading all phases of the program life cycle from inception (capture and proposal), award, execution, and closeout. The scope spans the system lifecycle from development through production and sustainment. Primary responsibilities are the management of quality, cost, schedule, and technical performance including but not limited to: Establishing a culture of trust and performance to drive timely decision making, communicate outcomes clearly across the program to stakeholders (customer, suppliers, and NG executives), and foster ownership and joint accountability. Strategy and execution of the Northrop Grumman Program Management Framework (PMF) with subordinate Program Managers and Supplier Management Team (SMT) leads Delivering integrated financial results, to include Profit & Loss (EAC and financial forecast accuracy), Earned Value Management (EVM), and Total Cost Management (TCM) to meet program requirements & objectives Cultivating customer relationships and intimacy to develop executable plans and obtain funding Optimizing the program organization and resolving organizational conflict or inefficiencies Setting clear goals and expectations for next level of leadership Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPTs) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives Ensuring team engagement and morale Driving predictable program performance, including regular measurement and management of key performance metrics Identifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planning, cross functional coordination, and supplier management Participating in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, program milestones, and key terms and conditions Ensuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope, prevents scope creep, and manages change through control board activities Development and adherence to integrated master plans and integrated master schedules, including schedule margin management and managing giver/receiver dependencies with external stakeholders such as customers, other programs, and suppliers Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation/capture, and MR management Managing suppliers to meet program objectives “Our Leaders at Northrop Grumman live our values daily and encourage our teams to do the same. Finally, We pioneer: setting a vision that shapes the future and inspires others.” Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master’s degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined below Related experience in progressive engineering, operations, or business leadership experience inclusive of design, development, test and production 3 years in program or project leadership roles P&L with integrated program team or CAM experience Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries An active US Government Secret level or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company to meet its business needs. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Strike customers and mission systems portfolio The ability to address uncertainty through an organized and analytical forward-looking approach Experience across build, qualification, integration, test, production, and sustainment of complex weapons systems including supply chain management Primary Level Salary Range: $193,800.00 - $290,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
