Are you an experienced Emergency Veterinarian looking to take the next step in your leadership journey while maintaining a strong connection to clinical practice?

Animal Emergency Centre (AEC) Midland is seeking a passionate and motivated Veterinary Director to join our team on a part-time basis.

As part of Australia’s largest network of Specialist and Emergency veterinary hospitals, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a key clinical leadership position within an established and supportive emergency team.

As Veterinary Director, you will play an important role in shaping the clinical direction of the hospital, supporting and developing our veterinary team, and working closely with the hospital and broader leadership team to continue building a thriving emergency service.

About the role

This is a diverse clinical and leadership position, providing the opportunity to continue practising clinically while taking on greater responsibility for team development, clinical standards and hospital performance.

You will:

• Provide clinical leadership and support to the veterinary team.
• Foster a positive, collaborative and supportive team culture where veterinarians feel encouraged to learn and develop.
• Mentor and coach vets, helping to build clinical confidence, capability and career progression.
• Support high standards of patient care, clinical governance and client communication.
• Work closely with the Business Manager and hospital leadership team on operational and management initiatives.
• Assist with clinical reporting, case and history reviews and other quality improvement activities.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and success of the AEC Midland service.
• Help strengthen relationships with referring veterinarians and the broader veterinary community.
• Act as a trusted clinical leader and advocate for the team, patients and clients.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Emergency Veterinarian who is ready to make an impact beyond the consult room.

You’ll ideally bring:

• At least 3 years’ experience in Emergency & Critical Care.
• Strong ECC clinical experience - ECC membership or progression towards membership is highly regarded.
• A genuine passion for mentoring, developing and supporting other veterinarians.
• Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
• A collaborative leadership style and a genuine interest in creating a positive team environment.
• A strong commitment to patient care, clinical excellence and exceptional client service.

You don’t need to have held a formal leadership title previously. We’re interested in experienced ECC veterinarians who are ready to step into leadership, influence the direction of the hospital and make a meaningful difference to their team.
