EHS teams are comprised of three distinct disciplines that support our EHS Management System and processes at project sites and offices. These teams include environmental scientists, safety specialists, and industrial hygiene scientists. Collectively, they provide technical guidance and perform planning, risk assessment, inspections and monitoring, training, and data management.

Job Summary:

The EHS Leadership Development Lead is responsible for designing, coordinating, and advancing leadership development initiatives that strengthen Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) capability and culture across the project and GBU. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this role partners with EHS leaders, operations, and learning resources to build leadership competencies, support succession planning, and drive consistent, high-quality EHS performance. The position focuses on developing current and emerging leaders through structured programs, coaching, and continuous improvement aligned with organizational EHS strategy. #LI-AE2

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and governance of Computer-Based Learning for EHS, including curriculum alignment, content relevance, completion tracking, and continuous improvement in coordination with the EHS Manager.
  • Lead and sustain the Craft Safety Advocate (CSA) / Craft-Based Leadership (CBL) program, including selection criteria, onboarding, ongoing development, and effectiveness measurement to strengthen workforce engagement in EHS.
  • Serve as the primary facilitator and content owner for the EHS Leadership Workshop, ensuring consistent delivery, leadership alignment, and integration of organizational EHS expectations and values.
  • Coach and mentor new EHS hires, supporting onboarding, role readiness, leadership skill development, and cultural integration within the EHS organization.
  • Partner with EHS leadership and operations to identify leadership development needs, address capability gaps, and align programs with site and organizational EHS objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate leadership development initiatives using participation data, feedback, and performance indicators; recommend improvements to enhance impact and sustainability.
  • Promote consistent leadership behaviors, visible field engagement, and accountability that reinforce a strong EHS culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Support succession planning and the development of future EHS leaders through targeted learning pathways, experiential development, and structured feedback.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in EHS program implementation, leadership development, or training facilitation within construction, manufacturing, industrial, or similar high-hazard environments.
  • Working knowledge of EHS management systems, leadership expectations, and workforce engagement programs.
  • Experience supporting or leading craft-based leadership, safety advocate, or workforce engagement initiatives.
  • Experience onboarding, coaching, or mentoring EHS professionals or frontline leaders.

    Additional Skills:

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences ranging from craft workers to senior leaders.
  • Proven coaching and mentoring capability, particularly in developing new EHS professionals and emerging leaders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple development initiatives simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess program effectiveness
