About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established industrial organization, is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer to join their team in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems across the facility.
• Support maintenance and operations teams with troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and technical problem-solving.
• Review and validate electrical and instrumentation designs, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Participate in Management of Change processes, risk reviews, safety assessments, and technical evaluations.
• Support capital projects, plant modifications, upgrades, and reliability initiatives.
• Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability, safety, and efficiency.
• Ensure work aligns with applicable codes, standards, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including maintenance, operations, projects, reliability, and technical services.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer designation, or eligibility for registration, is considered an asset.
• Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, refining, energy, or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation, electrical systems, controls, reliability, and maintenance support.
• Experience with Management of Change, design reviews, troubleshooting, and plant reliability initiatives.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across operations, maintenance, technical, and project teams.
• A practical, hands-on engineering approach with strong problem-solving skills.
