Our client is a leading organization in the Dutch nuclear sector, supporting critical energy, research, and healthcare initiatives. Working within an existing nuclear reactor environment, you will be part of an engineering team responsible for technical modifications, system improvements, and solving complex engineering challenges while maintaining the highest safety standards.

The Role

As an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer, you will contribute across multiple project phases, with a particular focus on instrumentation systems. You will work on engineering projects related to existing nuclear facilities, supporting both operational improvements and long-term modifications.

Your Responsibilities

Design, modify, and improve nuclear systems and associated equipment.
Support operational and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
Plan, coordinate, monitor, and manage engineering projects and installation modifications.
Liaise with suppliers regarding engineering services and equipment while maintaining strong professional relationships.
Prepare, review, and manage technical documentation, including design packages, drawings, FATs, SATs, SITs, implementation plans, and risk assessments.
Provide technical expertise and support to other departments when required.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and deliver value to internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues within critical infrastructure environments.

What We’re Looking for

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Professional engineering experience within an industrial or technical environment.
Experience with low-voltage power distribution systems and related calculations.
Knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems.
Affinity for preparing and reviewing technical documentation and engineering dossiers.
Experience with engineering standards and codes such as IEC, ISO, NEN, or similar.
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to consider safety, operational, and business requirements.
Experience with industrial automation, HVAC systems, fire detection and suppression systems, or security installations is advantageous.
Exposure to PLC programming concepts is beneficial.
Nuclear industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
Strong team-player mentality with a high commitment to safety and continuous learning.
Willingness to develop within a nuclear environment and take ownership of engineering projects and assignments.
