POSITION DETAILS
Title: Electrical Engineer
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Location: Midwest U.S. (onsite)
Relocation: Assistance available for qualified candidates
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design & Systems Engineering
Design machine electrical systems, including panel layouts, schematics, and control systems
Define scope and specifications for new and retrofit equipment
Select components such as panels, MCCs, drives, sensors, and instrumentation
Research and evaluate emerging technologies and solutions
Power Distribution & Facility Infrastructure
Develop and maintain plant electrical distribution layouts and schematics
Support arc flash studies and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
Specify and improve facility-level electrical systems
Capital Projects & Execution
Support capital projects from concept through implementation
Develop procurement specifications and support vendor selection
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to execute projects efficiently
Operations & Continuous Improvement
Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues in a live production environment
Partner with production and maintenance teams to improve reliability and performance
Support startup and commissioning of new equipment
Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives
Collaboration & Influence
Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, maintenance, and vendors
Provide technical guidance and mentorship where needed
Contribute to a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork

CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate brings both technical depth and an ownership mindset:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, power distribution, or machine design
Strong experience with:
Electrical schematics and panel design
Machine electrical systems
Power distribution systems
Hands-on troubleshooting capability in operational environments
Strong communication and documentation skills
Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and industrial safety standards
Preferred
PLC / HMI / controls experience
Exposure to automation and advanced manufacturing technologies
