Job Description Summary GE Vernova is a leading global energy company dedicated to electrifying the world while decarbonizing it. Our Onshore Wind business designs, builds, and services one of the largest wind turbine fleets in the world, helping customers generate reliable, renewable power at scale. The Fleet Performance Management (FPM) team plays a critical role in this mission - we monitor the health and performance of thousands of turbines across the installed fleet, using data and diagnostics to catch emerging issues early, improve reliability, and help our customers get the most out of their assets. FPM sits at the intersection of engineering, data, and field operations, working closely with Sub-System Design, Systems Engineering, and Services teams to turn fleet data into action. The Electrical Monitoring Engineer is an entry-level role focused on the analysis and diagnostic assessment of electrical components and systems across our onshore wind turbine fleet. This role is ideal for a recent or upcoming graduate with a foundation in electrical engineering who is also comfortable working with data and code - whether through coursework, projects, internships, clubs, or personal exploration. You'll learn to interpret electrical system data, detect abnormal performance, and support the broader monitoring strategy that keeps our fleet running reliably, all while building deep technical expertise in electrical systems and developing your data analysis and programming skills on the job. This role is rooted in the electrical engineering domain - you'll be diagnosing real electrical faults, component degradation, and performance issues on wind turbines - but you'll also be expected to build and interact with the tools, scripts, and analytics that make that diagnostic work possible. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Analyze operational data, SCADA signals, alarms, and events - under guidance from senior engineers - to identify abnormal electrical performance, component degradation, and system anomalies across the fleet. Support diagnostic assessment of electrical faults, power quality issues, and intermittent failures to assist troubleshooting and root cause investigations. Learn to distinguish actionable electrical signals from noise or expected operational variation, and interpret field performance data and service records to assess component health. Support fleet diagnostics and maintenance prioritization through electrical performance analysis. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of electrical monitoring strategies, condition indicators, and detection logic across the installed fleet. Collaborate with Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Services, Fleet Reliability, and Root Cause Analysis teams to support issue resolution and inform engineering improvements. Work with SCADA data, event logs, alarms, and service records, and build/improve scripts, queries, and dashboards to support electrical monitoring - growing your programming and data analysis skills on the job. Apply established standards for diagnostic quality and documentation, and clearly communicate technical findings to team members and stakeholders. Build comfort using Al-assisted tools to accelerate coding, data analysis, and problem-solving, and stay open to learning new programming languages and tools as needed. Develop foundational expertise in electrical component behavior, failure modes, and diagnostic techniques, while identifying opportunities to improve monitoring coverage and detection logic. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (completed or in progress, with anticipated graduation date). Strong foundational knowledge of electrical systems and engineering principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Willingness and ability to work on-site in Greenville, SC. Desired Characteristics Exposure to programming or data analysis, gained through coursework, internships, co-ops, personal projects, clubs, competitions, or a minor/secondary area of study (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, or similar). Formal coursework or a degree in these areas is not required - we're looking for demonstrated curiosity and hands-on experience working with code or data in some capacity. Comfort with, or eagerness to learn, programming and scripting languages such as Python, SQL, or MATLAB. Interest in and comfort with using Al-assisted tools to support coding, data analysis, and technical problem-solving. Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in the wind, power generation, or renewable energy industry. Experience working with real-world datasets, including cleaning, analyzing, or visualizing data. Familiarity with SCADA systems, sensor data, or industrial/operational data environments. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team environments, including group projects, capstones, or extracurricular technical clubs. Genuine interest in renewable energy and a career combining electrical engineering with data-driven problem solving.
