Role Overview
We are seeking an Electronics Technician to join our engineering and manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role involving the assembly, testing and preparation of electronic and electromechanical products within a manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will work from engineering drawings, route cards, specifications and assembly procedures, supporting the production of high-quality electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
Electronics & Electromechanical Assembly
- Assemble electromechanical components in accordance with route cards, engineering drawings and specifications.
- Assemble printed circuit boards in accordance with route cards and engineering drawings.
- Assemble, pot and coat components in accordance with applicable drawings, engineering specifications and assembly procedures.
- Assist with the kitting of production orders.
- Read, interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
Testing & Technical Support
- Test client equipment and products in accordance with Production Test Specifications (PTS) and client requirements.
- Support fault finding and the identification of issues during testing and assembly.
- Maintain accurate test records and associated technical documentation.
- Assist the engineering and production teams with technical issues relating to assembly and testing.
Test Equipment & Calibration
- Monitor the calibration status of test and measurement equipment.
- Maintain accurate calibration records and ensure equipment remains within the required calibration periods.
- Liaise with external calibration vendors to ensure calibration frequencies and requirements are maintained.
Experience & Skills
The role would suit an individual with practical electronics experience who enjoys hands-on assembly, testing and problem solving within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
Desirable experience includes:
- PCB assembly and electronic manufacturing.
- Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Electronic testing and fault finding.
- Electromechanical assembly.
- Control panel building, including experience with electrical wiring, component layout and practical panel assembly is particularly desirable.
A methodical approach, good attention to detail and the ability to follow technical documentation accurately are essential for the role.
QHSE Responsibility
- Understand, comply with and actively contribute to the continual improvement of documented QHSE controls and processes.
- Follow applicable procedures, risk assessments and COSHH assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
- Take personal responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.
- Actively identify and intervene where unsafe acts or conditions are observed.
- Co-operate with the Management Team to ensure the requirements of the Health & Safety Management System are met.
- Ensure all issued PPE is used correctly, maintained appropriately and protected from loss or damage.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a practical engineering and manufacturing environment where you will contribute directly to the assembly and testing of bespoke electronic and electromechanical products, working closely with both engineering and production teams.
- Salary: Competitive salary, dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with working hours to be confirmed.
- Qualifications: Relevant electronics, electrical or engineering qualifications are desirable; practical experience will also be considered.
