GE Vernova is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the firmware development team supporting the Mark VIe control platform. In this role, you will collaborate within a global, cross-functional team of engineers to design, develop, and enhance a state-of-the-art embedded control platform used across diverse power generation applications worldwide. Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software for controllers and systems supporting the Mark VIe platform
• Develop, code, test, and debug system-level software following structured engineering practices
• Analyze and improve the efficiency, stability, and scalability of embedded system resources
• Integrate and validate new product designs, ensuring alignment with performance and quality requirements
• Interface closely with hardware design and development teams to ensure robust hardware-software integration
• Evaluate third-party and open-source software components for suitability, security, and compliance
• Develop and execute automated unit and regression test suites to ensure software reliability
• Collaborate with global, cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in line with GE Vernova's engineering standards and lean practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
• 3–5 years of professional experience in embedded software programming
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting on embedded targets/hardware
• Strong programming proficiency in C or C++ (C++ preferred)
• Experience with embedded systems design using preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems (RTOS); QNX RTOS experience preferred
• Experience developing automated unit tests for C/C++ applications
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking systems, and peer review practices
