Looking for surveying work that goes beyond the ordinary?

Energy Surveys is a specialist surveying company based in Taupō, providing precise monitoring and measurement surveys for dam, hydro and geothermal assets throughout New Zealand.

We are growing our team and have multiple opportunities available for experienced Engineering Surveyors and Survey Technicians.

These are hands-on roles for people with strong surveying experience who enjoy technically challenging work, value accuracy, and are comfortable taking responsibility for delivering high-quality survey projects.

The roles

Depending on your experience and capability, you will take responsibility for survey projects from planning and fieldwork through to processing, analysis and final delivery.

You Will

  • Lead field teams undertaking precise monitoring and engineering surveys.
  • Plan and complete total station, precise levelling and GNSS surveys.
  • Process, check and analyse survey data.
  • Prepare plans, reports and project deliverables.
  • Contribute to survey methodologies, quality assurance and project planning.
  • Work directly with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Apply professional judgement to technically challenging survey projects.

About You

We are looking for people who:

  • Hold a surveying degree or other relevant surveying qualification, or have strong practical experience as a survey technician.
  • Have solid practical experience in engineering, construction, geodetic or monitoring surveying.
  • Are confident taking responsibility for survey work from field planning through to final deliverables.
  • Have strong technical ability, sound judgement and excellent attention to detail.
  • Are comfortable leading field teams and working independently when required.
  • Enjoy a mix of field and office work.
  • Are happy to travel throughout New Zealand, including overnight stays.
  • Hold a full New Zealand driver licence and are eligible to work full-time in New Zealand.

Specialist monitoring experience is not essential. We are looking for capable surveyors and survey technicians with strong fundamentals and a high standard of work, and we will provide training in our monitoring methodologies and systems.

Why Energy Surveys?

Energy Surveys is different from a general surveying practice. Precision monitoring is our core business.

You will work on significant dam, hydro and geothermal assets, using high-precision equipment and techniques in a specialist area of the surveying profession.

We offer competitive remuneration, travel allowances, professional development, relocation assistance where appropriate, and the opportunity to develop specialist expertise while taking genuine responsibility for your work.

Why Taupō?

These opportunities give you the chance to build a specialist surveying career while being based in Taupō.

With the lake, mountains and outdoor recreation on your doorstep, Taupō offers an excellent lifestyle, while its central North Island location suits the nationwide nature of our work.

If you are looking for technically interesting work, genuine project responsibility and the opportunity to build specialist expertise in precision monitoring, we would like to hear from you.

For a confidential discussion, contact Adam Manunui on 022 343 8977, or send your CV to [email protected].
