About The Role
Position
We are currently seeking qualified, experienced, and motivated professionals to join our Health and Environment team. Applications are encouraged from candidates with a range of experience, with Council considering appointment at different levels based on the successful applicant’s qualifications, skills and experience.
Reporting to the Coordinator Health and Environment, our Environmental Health Officers provide expert support and guidance in the delivery of a broad range of environmental health services, and associated compliance functions. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the delivery of environmental health services within a local government context, with the ability to independently manage a diverse range of environmental health matters.
The roles work contribute to a positive, customer-focused culture, ensuring high-quality service delivery and effective community engagement and education.
Council will consider both full time and part time working arrangements, and will discuss further with the preferred candidates and interview stage.

- Tertiary qualifications in an environmental health / science related field.
- Demonstrated experience in an environmental health related role with experience in delivering specialist environmental health services within local government.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing good rapport with various community sectors and dealing with a broad range of customers and community representatives in a courteous and professional manner.
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to prepare environmental health reports and submissions.
