WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS

You will join an experienced estimating team based in the Perth office, working on tenders for large-scale, technically demanding projects. Scopes typically include civil, structural and building works, often with complex logistics, staging and remote or regional considerations.

Working closely with the Estimating Manager, preconstruction, commercial and operations teams, you will help shape bid strategy and pricing on major opportunities. The culture is collaborative and commercially focused, with strong systems and leaders who invest in developing their people.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates and tender submissions for major infrastructure, resources and building projects
• Review tender documents, drawings and specifications, identifying risks, opportunities and clarifications
• Measure quantities and build up rates from first principles, including labour, plant, materials and preliminaries
• Obtain, analyse and level subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Work with planning and operations teams to develop construction methodology, programme and logistics assumptions
• Contribute to value engineering, alternative designs and bid strategy
• Present estimates and risk positions to senior leadership during tender reviews
• Ensure a clear handover of successful tenders to delivery and commercial teams

WHAT YOU NEED

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within a main contractor or civil engineering contractor
• Strong first-principles estimating skills on large, complex projects
• Experience on infrastructure, civil, resources or major building projects is highly beneficial but not essential
• Confident use of estimating software and measurement tools
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
• Genuine commitment to relocating to Perth on a long-term basis
