About the Role
As a Facilities Electrical Engineer, you will manage multiple concurrent industrial projects from initial feasibility to final installation. You will act as the technical anchor—evaluating complex power distribution systems, ensuring strict code compliance, and supervising on-site contractors in both greenfield and brownfield environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Architecture: Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedules, and budgets. Create robust scopes of work (SOW), comprehensive bid packages, and precise project specifications.
- Electrical System Design: Evaluate complex power distribution networks, including breaker sizing, amp draw, Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR), and panel loading. Specify and confirm electrical components for industrial equipment.
- Technical Quality & Compliance: Review technical drawings, provide engineering feedback, and negotiate modifications. Evaluate electrical and safety compliance against local and national codes, collaborating closely with 3rd party Safety Compliance Contractors.
- On-Site Execution: Supervise contractors in greenfield or brownfield environments. Coordinate seamless equipment installations alongside skilled trades, affiliate companies, engineers, and equipment manufacturers.
- Project Delivery: Collaborate across cross-functional teams to hit critical milestones. Proactively develop agile countermeasures for project delays to ensure on-time delivery.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Required Skills & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Engineering, Technical Trade Certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Industrial Background: 3+ years working in a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
- Project Management: 3+ years of formal project management experience, including bid specification development and contractor negotiation.
- Technical Expertise: 2+ years of experience in Industrial Power Distribution/System Design and reviewing complex technical drawings/schematics.
- Software: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Experience with Automotive Paint Processes.
- Proven ability to calculate and optimize utility costs.
- Strong understanding of PLC operations, programming, and communication (Toyopuc, Omron, Allen-Bradley via FLNet, EtherNet).
- Solid understanding of Operational Technology (OT/IT) networking.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E/77 and OSHA 10/30 certifications.
