Job Description

The electrical engineer will be responsible for providing support on the electrical distribution system at DMTN(Maryville, TN). The electrical engineer will provide direction and support to Facilities Maintenance and Production Maintenance for issues regarding these systems. The engineer will also be responsible for reviewing submittals, drawings, etc… for new construction to verify equipment meets Facilities standards and safety.

Engineer will also lead construction projects at DMTN. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining a safe jobsite and review sites for safety issues. The engineer will also be responsible for other project management tasks such as budget keeping, PO creation, schedule, etc.

Job Responsibilities
• Oversee safety on active CIP projects pertaining to the electrical distribution system
• Open communication with interested parties and stakeholders on active CIP projects
• Project management of active construction
○ Budget
○ Schedule
○ Time keeping
○ Day to Day issues
○ Weekly progress meetings
○ Punch list creation
• Provide guidance and support for other active construction projects on campus. Guidance includes but not limited to:
○ Drawing review
○ Specification review, creation, editing
○ Site visit verification for correct installation
• Perform routine maintenance tasks of electrical distribution system such as but not limited to:
○ Coordination studies
○ Arc flash analysis
• Provide direction on electrical issues and critical failures with existing equipment and support Facilities Maintenance in activities related to equipment
• Maintain and update existing electrical specifications
• Update and provide red-line drawings to CAD operator for update

Qualifications

Minimum
• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
• FE certification completed for Electrical or general engineering
• 3 years minimum equivalent work experience in manufacturing or electrical design
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Basic schedule creation
• Basic checkbook balancing
• Use of software to perform coordination studies/arc flash analysis on distribution system

Preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in Electrical engineering position in an industrial/commercial setting
• PE license in Electrical Engineering
• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• NFPA/NEC certifications
• Experience with high voltage distribution systems

Annual Salary: $84,000 - $104,000
