Join Our Growing Family and Community Medicine Residency Program Onvida Health is seeking an exceptional Core, Faculty Family Medicine Physician, a leader who brings vision, creativity, and a commitment to excellence in medical education.


This opportunity is ideal for a Family Medicine physician seeking a faculty, outpatient-focused, hospital-employed position within a supportive academic and clinical environment. The role combines rewarding outpatient practice with dedicated time for resident education, teaching, and mentorship. Strong specialty access, collaborative colleagues, and comprehensive system resources allow the physician to focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting the development of future Family Medicine physicians.


The selected physician will serve as a trusted subject matter expert, providing residents with the support, mentorship, and expert guidance they need to become confident, compassionate, and highly skilled physicians. We are looking for an engaging educator who brings a team-oriented mindset, strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, innovative ideas, and a desire to build meaningful partnerships throughout Onvida Health and the Yuma community.


About the Position

• Full-time, hospital-employed Core Faculty position.

• Outpatient-focused role with a 60% administrative and teaching/40% clinical FTE structure.

• Dedicated time for resident precepting, mentorship, curriculum development, and faculty responsibilities.

• Opportunity to maintain an individual patient panel and develop meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.

• Collaborative Graduate Medical Education team of physicians, coordinators, and support staff.

• J-1 waiver and H-1B visa sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• American Board of Family Medicine certification required.

• 3 years of Family Medicine experience preferred.

• Qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Residency program leadership, faculty, teaching, or precepting experience preferred.

• Commitment to resident education, mentorship, and continuous program improvement.


About Our Family and Community Medicine Residency Program

• Established in July 2013 with four inaugural residents, the Onvida Health Family and Community Medicine Residency Program is a three-year program that has earned the highest level of accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

• The program has grown to 34 residents and currently welcomes 12 PGY-1 residents annually, with plans for continued growth.

• Residency interviews are conducted annually from October through December, allowing the program to thoughtfully recruit future physicians committed to compassionate, community-focused care.

• Specialized learning tracks in innovation and research, sports medicine, global health, and integrated medicine.

• Comprehensive continuum of care, including inpatient hospitalist services and more than 35 + outpatient clinics across multiple specialties.

• Epic, a fully integrated electronic health record (EHR) system, supports seamless coordination across inpatient and outpatient care settings


Graduate Medical Education at Onvida Health

• Sports Medicine Fellowship established in 2019, graduating one fellow annually.

Compensation

• Strong Competitive base salary + PLUS strong Sign on and Relocation Bonus
