At the same time, you will maintain your own outpatient practice and continue delivering high-quality community-based care. Position Highlights Full-time Core Faculty position within an established Family Medicine Residency Program Outpatient Family Medicine practice with direct patient care responsibilities Teach and supervise residents in the ambulatory setting Serve as an advisor, mentor, and role model for Family Medicine residents Develop and participate in resident didactic education Present educational sessions and participate in resident journal clubs Mentor residents on senior projects and participate in research activities Contribute to ACGME-required scholarly activity Participate in resident recruitment, including application review, interviews, and recruitment events Residency program maintains 16 residents annually Full complement of support staff available at the training site OB/GYN provider located within the facility Onsite laboratory and radiology services What We Offer Opportunity to teach, mentor, and shape future Family Medicine physicians Established residency program with dedicated academic leadership Ability to maintain and grow your own outpatient patient panel Robust administrative and operational support staff Participation in scholarly, research, and academic development activities Collaborative multidisciplinary clinical environment with onsite ancillary services Malpractice insurance provided Health, dental, and life insurance 401(k) with employer matching Deferred compensation program Relocation assistance Candidate Requirements 3-5 years of Family Medicine experience highly preferred Previous academic experience highly preferred Experience with outpatient medical faculty preferred Board Certification in Family Medicine DEA certification Michigan medical license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Michigan Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire Knowledge of preventative medicine principles and practices Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and community health centers Demonstrated ability to access, analyze, and apply medical literature to clinical practice Strong organizational, presentation, and communication skills Effective communication skills with patients and their families Why Detroit Detroit combines big-city amenities with a strong sense of community and affordability.
