Join an established collaborative family practice in Springhill, working alongside physicians, NPs, nurses, social workers, allied health to provide primary care to the community. Springhill Primary Health Care Clinic is an approved LF< Rural Small Site. In addition to Family Medicine Practice, LFM Rural Sites are in a community where additional services other than family medicine are delivered including inpatient coverage, Level 4 ED or Urgent Treatment/Care Centre (UTC/UCC), and long-term care (LTC).
Responsibilities
- provide comprehensive, full-scope primary health care to practice patients of all ages and stages of health and illness
- maintain timely and accurate patient records using a provincially approved electronic medical record (EMR)
- participate in quality improvement, practice evaluation, and other activities that support the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care
- attend regular physician and team meetings
- comply with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies, and professional standards of Nova Scotia Health
- partake in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development opportunities
- participate in teaching of medical learners
Expected Hours
- Full-time Equivalency: 1.0
- weekly hours: 37.5
- call schedule: associated with inpatient work
- 46/52 weeks per year
Remuneration
- Longitudinal Family Medicine (LFM) contract approximately 391.138.38 CAD
- family physicians in Nova Scotia are compensated based on the LFM payment model or Fee for Service (FFS)
- LFM Rural Small Site remuneration adds a modifying percentage of up to 10% for participation in inpatient, urgent or emergent care, and long-term care in the community which may vary by independent participation. Only inpatient or ED counts as the first modifier (can't qualify for LFM Rural if only doing LTC)

All Saints Springhill Hospital
All Saints Springhill Hospital (ASSH) is in Springhill, Nova Scotia. The facility provides health services to Springhill and surrounding areas including Oxford, Collingwood, Southampton and Springhill Junction. ASSH opened its doors in 1893 and has been serving its community on the same site ever since. Located in the historic former mining town Springhill in central Cumberland County, ASSH provides inpatient and outpatient health services. ASSH is also a collaborative emergency centre (CEC). ASSH has a total of 30 beds for transitional care, palliative care, and addiction programs.
