Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Field Service Manager to lead and support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of renewable energy systems, including solar PV, hybrid power plants, and energy storage systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring reliable, efficient, and safe electrical operations across a portfolio of off-grid and grid-connected energy sites, while managing field service activities, technical teams, and client requirements.
Job Descriptions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Efficiently manage and supervise a team of technicians to achieve operational targets.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly activities for the team, ensuring full compliance with the maintenance schedule.
- Optimize team utilization by effectively managing travel time and allocating resources across active projects.
- Achieve and exceed operational targets and KPIs set by management.
- Coordinate, estimate, and arrange fuel deliveries to multiple sites, ensuring safe delivery and accurate allocation without discrepancies.
- Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and project engineers to ensure diesel generators are serviced on schedule with minimal impact on client operations.
- Work closely with Operations Engineers to optimize maintenance and cleaning schedules while considering manpower, time, and budget constraints.
- Ensure regular inspections are conducted at operating sites and that proper planned preventive maintenance (PPM) plans are implemented for all plant components.
- Ensure corrective maintenance activities are completed and closed within the agreed timelines.
- Ensure all preventive and corrective maintenance activities are properly documented.
- Ensure all team members have valid site access, including gate passes and access cards, before expiry.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance reports for clients and internal teams.
- Train, motivate, and mentor technicians to ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with company SOPs and safety standards.
- Provide technical support to the team in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues at sites.
- Monitor and report plant performance KPIs, identify underperformance, and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed performance expectations.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Valid UAE Driving License.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in power plants, diesel generators, solar plants, and substations, preferably in the renewable energy or industrial power sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams)
- Competent to work under MV safety rules and procedures.
- Willingness to relocate and travel to various project sites.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing and supervising field service teams effectively.
- Expertise in solar-hybrid power systems, diesel generators, and renewable energy solutions.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate and motivate technical teams.
- Good reporting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and implement timely solutions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage service schedules, maintenance activities, and project deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety standards and commitment to maintaining compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.
- Previous experience in renewable energy, hybrid power systems, or energy solutions is highly preferred.
- Relevant electrical or mechanical certifications are an advantage.
