FINANCE | Finance Accounting Manager
Position Overview

Primary responsibilities are to:
- Responsibility of statutory financial statement preparation
- Manage and coordinate the monthly / quarterly and annual management closing process
- Ensure statutory tax and VAT compliance
- Manage the accounting team (accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, accounting)
- Lead/Participate in finance projects

Education & Experience
- Minimum Education: Master's degree in Finance / Economy / Accounting
- Experience Requirements: 5 years or more in Finance/Accounting in an international company
- Strong communication skills to be able to work effectively with management and other functions
- English communication skills to work with Finance Director and Colgate/Hill's Global Headquarters
- Strong PC skills, including Windows and spreadsheet applications (Google Sheets and Excel)
- SAP experience an advantage

Financial Statement Impact
- Accurately records transactions, maintains up-to-date reconciliations and provides timely reports
- Understands principles of accounting and the impact of transactions on Colgate's general ledger and financial statements
- Enforces proper documentation and approval procedures
- Develops effective analyses that consider data such as trends, comparisons and ratios to generate business insights
- Introduces analyses with a summary of the data and a narrative description of what is included
- Thoroughly reviews own work before passing it on to others
- Thoroughly learn and consistently apply the SAP transaction codes for your area
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of end-to-end processes
- Improve business application system skills (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel files, SAP scripts)
- Constantly monitors accuracy of systems-provided information
- Reports To: Finance Director
- Supervisory Responsibility: Yes – 2 permanent employees and 1 temp staff
- Internal Key Partnerships: Business Partner to Customer Service and Logistics Team, European Treasury Centre (ETC)
- External Key Partnerships: Banks, Customs, Tax office
- Twice per year within Japan for Inventory Stock-take
- Project-related international travel
