Key Responsibilities
- Design and review fire protection systems including automatic sprinkler, standpipe, hose, and fire suppression systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and fire protection system sizing.
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, calculations, and design documentation.
- Interpret and apply the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, National Building Code of Canada, NFPA standards, and applicable ULC requirements.
- Design and evaluate fire protection systems for new construction, renovations, retrofits, and existing buildings.
- Conduct site investigations, field reviews, inspections, and commissioning activities.
- Review contractor shop drawings and fire protection system submittals.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and provide technical support during construction.
