The Role
As a Food & Nutrition Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and practical Food & Nutrition lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate.
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the English National Curriculum.
- Develop students' understanding of nutrition, food science, health and food preparation techniques.
- Ensure a safe and organised classroom and food preparation environment, adhering to all health and safety procedures.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Foster creativity, independence and confidence through practical learning experiences.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd or equivalent) with QTS or equivalent.
- A degree in Food & Nutrition, Food Technology, Hospitality, Nutrition or a closely related subject.
- A strong understanding of the English National Curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for practical learning and inspiring young people.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development.
