Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

This is a hands-on engineering role at a fast-growing, bootstrapped AI services company that embeds engineers directly inside Fortune 500 client environments to design, build, and ship production AI systems. You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI tooling and large-scale enterprise transformation, owning full builds end-to-end and presenting results to C-suite stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Architect and deploy AI workflows and agentic systems for enterprise clients, from initial design through production release.

• Ramp quickly into unfamiliar codebases, including large-scale enterprise monoliths, and ship production code with a high degree of autonomy.

• Partner directly with CIOs, CEOs, and senior engineering teams across industries such as finance, entertainment, and consumer goods.

• Use modern agentic coding tools (such as AI-assisted IDEs and code generation platforms) to accelerate delivery.

• Collaborate with AI strategy counterparts to scope and execute bets, building systems that operate independently once deployed.

What We're Looking For

• 3 to 8 years of production software engineering experience, with clear evidence of personally shipping substantial, complex systems.

• True full-stack product engineering background, not primarily academic, ML research, or data-only roles.

• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) in production settings, beyond fully managed platforms.

• Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end AI workflows or agentic systems for enterprise clients.

• Comfort working at startup pace, including 5 days per week in-office in New York City.

• Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at the executive level.

• Experience at a high-ownership startup, or Big Tech experience combined with demonstrated appetite for fast-paced environments.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (such as AI code editors or generation platforms) is a strong plus.

• Background as a founding engineer, CTO, or in a client-facing engineering role where production code was the primary output is a plus.

• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $180,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site, 5 days per week in New York, NY (Madison Square Park area).
