Founding Engineer (Full-Time | San Francisco | New Deployment Function)

At Dynamism, we partner with breakout startups backed by Sequoia, a16z, and Y Combinator to help them hire engineers with founder energy, people who build fast, think like owners, and thrive in zero-to-one environments.

We're hiring a Founding Engineer profile for an enterprise AI company scaling a new forward deployed engineering function. The company has raised more than $50M and is building AI systems for one of the largest and most operationally complex markets in the world. Its platform is already used by major insurers and enterprise operators.

You will help set the standard for how deployments are scoped, built, launched, and converted into platform improvements. The opportunity combines the ownership of an early team member with the resources, customer demand, and technical ambition of a well-funded company.

📍 Location: San Francisco Mission office, on-site Monday through Friday
💰 Comp Range: $165K to $250K base plus competitive equity
📈 Stage: Growth stage, more than $50M raised
🛠️ Stack: Python, APIs, LLMs, prompt systems, multimodal and agentic AI
🏢 Customers: Major insurers and enterprise operators

What You'll Own
• Early customer deployments for the growing FDE function
• Technical and operating standards for repeatable delivery
• End-to-end integrations across customer and platform systems
• Rapid prototypes that prove value before deeper investment
• Product improvements based on patterns across customers
• Trusted relationships with customer executives and technical teams

You Might Be a Fit If You…
• Have built from zero in a startup, side project, or greenfield team
• Are a strong Python engineer with excellent software fundamentals
• Can own an ambiguous project without waiting for a detailed specification
• Communicate confidently with customers and internal engineers
• Care about building the system and improving how the team builds systems
• Want broad responsibility with visible company impact

Bonus If You've…
• Founded a company or joined an engineering team early
• Worked as an FDE or customer-facing product engineer
• Built AI agents, model integrations, or evaluation systems
• Owned a project from discovery through production launch
• Created internal playbooks, tools, or reusable deployment frameworks
