Founding Engineer, Applied AI

About the Role

Join an early engineering team building AI systems that automate complex hardware engineering work for manufacturers. You will own systems end to end and help shape the product, architecture, and engineering culture as an early technical hire.

What You'll Do

• Design and build core workflows and infrastructure for engineering agents, including context management, indexing, and post-training systems.

• Develop AI agents and machine learning models that interpret, reason over, and manipulate complex engineering design data within enterprise toolchains.

• Work directly with customers and teammates to deliver reliable, intuitive AI workflows for production use.

• Prototype ideas with users and ship improvements from early concept through deployment.

• Contribute to foundational architectural decisions, engineering practices, and the product roadmap.

What We're Looking For

• Two to six years of experience in applied machine learning, backend engineering, or AI infrastructure, or exceptional new graduates with strong fundamentals.

• Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, and Weights & Biases.

• Experience building production machine learning or AI systems, including practical experience with search and information retrieval.

• Strong familiarity with large language model architectures and agent research.

• A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, machine learning, or an equivalent background.

• Experience with geometric data, CAD systems, or impactful AI research is helpful, along with a builder mindset and care for customer experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $180,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
