Founding Engineer / Software Engineer

I’m working with a rapidly scaling AI startup that is rethinking the call center from the ground up using voice AI. Their platform is already being used by thousands of companies to power AI voice agents across sales, customer support, logistics, and other high-volume workflows.

High 8 figure ARR and they’re backed by top-tier investors and have been recognized as one of the fastest-growing software and AI companies in the market.

The next phase is even more ambitious: building an AI-native CX platform where entire contact centers can be operated by intelligent AI workers, not just basic automation, but systems that can act as frontline agents, QA analysts, and managers while continuously monitoring and improving customer interactions.

They’re now hiring Backend Engineers to work directly on the core infrastructure powering millions of AI-driven conversations. You’d be working on problems spanning real-time audio, global telephony, distributed systems, prompt orchestration, observability, testing infrastructure, developer tooling, and high-scale backend architecture.

This is a highly technical, high-ownership role where you’d have the opportunity to work closely with the founding team, own projects end-to-end, and see your work go directly into production at significant scale. They’re particularly interested in engineers who have built high-performance backend systems involving concurrency, data, storage, distributed systems, or infrastructure and who enjoy operating in fast-moving startup environments.

Compensation: $200K–$300K base + meaningful equity

Location: Redwood City, CA — onsite

Visa: Sponsorship available, including H-1B, TN, L-1, E-3, O-1 and F-1 OPT/CPT

The company has a strong engineering culture built around high ownership, fast execution, and above-market compensation, with multiple cash/equity structures available depending on candidate preference.

The interview process consists of an initial recruiter conversation, technical coding, system design, and a final onsite/virtual loop covering practical coding, architecture, and technical automation.
