About the Role

This is the first dedicated design hire at an early-stage B2B SaaS company building a specialized hiring platform for hardtech engineers. You will own the full design language and user experience across a three-party platform serving recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates, reporting directly to a co-founder. Your work will have an outsized impact on how the product looks, feels, and ships from day one.

What You'll Do

Develop a deep understanding of all three user groups and identify where interface friction, not content difficulty, is causing drop-off or confusion.
Establish and enforce a consistent design system across the entire platform, resolving accumulated inconsistencies from fast-moving early development.
Analyze product analytics (including session recordings and event data) to surface signals and translate them into concrete design improvements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to deliver a seamless experience across assessment flows and hiring dashboards.
Redesign and build the marketing website end to end, owning information architecture, visual design, and front-end implementation.

What We're Looking For

2 to 4 years of product design experience, ideally as an early or sole designer at a startup.
Demonstrated ability to ship work that combines UX and visual design in Figma with production TypeScript coding.
Experience building and maintaining a cohesive design system across a full product.
Hands-on experience with product analytics tools, including PostHog.
Background designing software for technical or hardware-adjacent products such as CAD tools, simulation software, or developer tooling.
Comfortable working across engineering, product, and go-to-market functions in a fast-moving environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $140,000 to $185,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, California, 3 to 4 days per week.
