About the Role

This is the first dedicated design hire at an early-stage B2B SaaS company building a simulation-based hiring platform for hardtech engineers. You will own the entire design language and user experience across a three-party platform serving recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates, reporting directly to a co-founder. Your work will have immediate, visible impact on how the world's best hardware engineers are evaluated and hired.

What You'll Do

Develop a deep understanding of all three user groups (recruiters, engineers, and candidates) and identify where interface friction, not question difficulty, causes candidate drop-off.
Establish and enforce a consistent design language across the entire platform, resolving inconsistencies that have accumulated from fast shipping without a dedicated design owner.
Analyze product data using analytics and session-recording tools to surface insights and translate them into concrete design improvements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to ensure a seamless experience across all platform surfaces, from assessment flows to hiring dashboards.
Redesign and build the marketing website ahead of launch, owning information architecture, visual design, and front-end implementation end to end.

What We're Looking For

2 to 4 years of experience as a product or technical designer, ideally at an early-stage startup.
Demonstrated ability to ship both polished UX/visual design in Figma and production-quality TypeScript code.
Experience building and enforcing a cohesive design system across a full product.
Hands-on experience with product analytics tools, including PostHog.
Background designing software for hardware or technical products such as CAD, simulation tools, or developer tooling.
Comfortable working across engineering, product, and go-to-market teams in a fast-moving, scrappy environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $140,000 to $185,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

Hybrid, based in San Francisco, California. In-office presence of 3 to 4 days per week is expected.
