About the Role
As the first dedicated designer on an early-stage team, you will shape the user experience and design language of a technical hiring platform. Your work will help recruiters, engineering teams, and candidates navigate real-world skills assessment and hiring.
What You'll Do
Learn how recruiters, engineers, and candidates use the platform, and identify where interface friction affects their experience.
Build and maintain a cohesive design system across the product.
Use product analytics, session recordings, and tools such as PostHog to identify opportunities and inform design improvements.
Work closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to deliver a consistent experience across assessment flows and dashboards.
Own the website redesign from information architecture and visual design through front-end implementation.
Move quickly from insight to shipped improvements in a fast-paced startup environment.
What We're Looking For
Two to four years of product design experience, with front-end engineering skills.
Experience as an early or founding designer at a startup, ideally on a technical product.
Strong UX and visual design skills in Figma, alongside production TypeScript experience and a portfolio of shipped work.
Experience creating and applying a design system across a product, and using product analytics tools such as PostHog.
Technical fluency and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams.
Experience designing software for hardware or other technical domains, such as CAD, simulation, or developer tools, is valuable.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $140,000 to $185,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
Hybrid in San Francisco, California, with in-office work three to four days per week.
