Job Description

Join our Technical Services Team as a General Claims Adjuster in a hybrid field role based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This opportunity offers the variety of field work, the flexibility of a hybrid schedule, and the chance to make a meaningful impact by helping customers through the claims process.


In this role, you will handle a diverse portfolio of multi-line claims, with a primary focus on property and casualty claims across commercial and personal lines. You will investigate losses, assess coverage, negotiate fair settlements in accordance with provincial licensing requirements, and build trusted relationships with customers while maintaining strong production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes experts’ reports
  • Selects and directs independent experts
  • Identifies and pursues subrogation opportunities
  • Secures and manages litigation disposition plans and budgets
  • Detailed recording of file activities and transactions in both Crawford and Company and client based systems
  • Maintains accurate expense accounts
  • Work with manager to maintain client relation
  • Ability to liaise and work with all facets of the insurance community including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel and regulators


Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of functional and technical claims handling experience in large loss, commercial claims and liability.
  • Ideal candidate will have a property and casualty background specializing in project management, quantification and appraisal.
  • Commercial policy interpretation and experience making recommendations to the market.
  • Licensed or working towards CIP and/or FCIP designation.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunity for career growth.
