Easy Tiger is an Austin original known for freshly baked bread, approachable food, cold beer, and lively neighborhood spaces. At Easy Tiger South Lamar, we are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead restaurant operations, develop a strong team, drive financial performance, and deliver an exceptional guest experience.


About the Role

The General Manager is responsible for the overall operations and performance of Easy Tiger South Lamar, including restaurant operations, team leadership, guest satisfaction, financial performance, hiring and training, and maintaining Easy Tiger and MML Hospitality standards.


This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced restaurant operator who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The General Manager will lead and develop the management and hourly teams while maintaining strong operational and financial performance.

The ideal candidate has experience managing a high-volume restaurant, bar, beer garden, or similar hospitality operation and is comfortable balancing team leadership, guest experience, and business performance.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations at Easy Tiger South Lamar.
  • Lead, coach, and develop restaurant managers and hourly team members.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, and retain high-performing employees.
  • Create a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the restaurant floor and support the team during service.
  • Ensure a consistent and high-quality guest experience.
  • Manage restaurant financial performance, including sales, labor costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), operating expenses, budgets, and profitability.
  • Review P&L statements and operational reporting to identify opportunities and improve restaurant performance.
  • Manage labor scheduling and staffing levels based on business needs.
  • Establish clear performance expectations for managers and hourly employees.
  • Partner with culinary leadership to maintain strong communication and coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
  • Maintain standards for food quality, beverage service, hospitality, cleanliness, organization, and facility maintenance.
  • Build relationships with regular guests and the South Lamar and Austin communities.
  • Support restaurant events, programming, marketing initiatives, and other efforts designed to increase traffic and sales.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable health, safety, labor, and alcohol regulations.
  • Partner with MML Hospitality leadership and support departments on financial goals, people initiatives, marketing, operations, and restaurant strategy.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive restaurant management experience.
  • General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or senior restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant, bar, beer garden, or hospitality operation.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, front-of-house operations, and team management.
  • Experience managing budgets, labor costs, COGS, forecasting, and P&L performance.
  • Proven experience recruiting, training, coaching, and developing restaurant teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead through a hands-on and highly visible management approach.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
  • Experience with restaurant POS, scheduling, labor management, and reporting systems. Experience with Toast, 7shifts, Avero, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • English fluency required. Spanish fluency is a plus.

This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of restaurant management. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.


The position regularly requires standing and walking for extended periods, communicating with guests and employees, reaching, bending, and performing other physical activities associated with restaurant operations. The employee may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

The restaurant environment may include exposure to heat, steam, cold temperatures, and moderate to high noise levels.
