On-site role in Birmingham, AL. Posted nationally because we're recruiting nationwide, with relocation assistance for the right candidate.
We're partnering with an exciting new French fine-dining restaurant opening in Birmingham in early 2027, and they need a General Manager who can lead the dining room at the very highest level.
The chef is a Culinary Institute of America graduate who built his career in New York City's top kitchens, including Michelin-starred restaurants. His culinary team is coming from The Greenbrier, one of the most rigorous kitchens in the country. And at the heart of the kitchen sits a legendary French Molteni cooking suite, hand-built in France, that once anchored one of Manhattan's great restaurants. It's the kind of detail that tells you everything about how this place is being built.
This is a chef-driven project with a world-class wine program in the works and the ambition to be counted among the best restaurants in the country. It's exceptionally well-funded and built without compromise, and the GM will be a true partner to the chef in setting the culture, the service standard, and the guest experience.
What you'd own
• Leading and building the front-of-house team through pre-opening and launch
• Setting the service standards, steps of service, and training that define the room
• Working hand in hand with the chef and wine team on the full guest experience
• Running the business side: P&L, labor, systems, reservations, and vendor relationships
Who I'm looking for
• Roughly 10 years in fine dining, with time at Michelin-starred or comparable restaurants
• A strong track record of tenure and growth. A standout #2 ready for the top job is a great fit
• Polished, warm, and calm under pressure, with a real love for hospitality
• Opening experience is a plus
• Ready to relocate to Birmingham, with a start date around December 1, 2026
What's in it for you
We're looking for the very best Michelin-level GM in the country, and the compensation reflects that. It's top tier and commensurate with experience, and for the right person they're prepared to make this move well worth your while. Relocation assistance is available. The opportunity goes well beyond the paycheck: a chance to put your name on a restaurant from the ground up.
