Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of next-generation and legacy semiconductor platforms, mainframes, robots, and subsystems.
  • Lead complex technical escalations in partnership with cross-functional design and engineering teams to drive rapid issue resolution.
  • Deliver technical knowledge, troubleshooting methodologies, and best practices to Applied Materials customer engineers worldwide to improve tool health, performance, and stability.
  • Represent the voice of the field in engineering reviews, product development discussions, and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain Best Known Methods (BKMs), Internal Service Bulletins (ISBs), and technical support documentation for new and legacy platforms.
  • Create and update procedures covering safety, installation, startup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Develop training packages for new products and collaborate with Global Technical Training (GTT) to deploy training programs.
  • Train Customer Engineers (CEs), Process Support Engineers (PSEs), and Technical Product Support (TPS) teams prior to customer deployments.
  • Identify critical spare part requirements and work with Applied Global Services (AGS) to ensure optimal inventory availability across global locations.

Our Group

  • Provides expert-level technical support for semiconductor mainframes, robotic handling systems, and critical subsystems.
  • Partners closely with engineering teams to support product development, qualification, and field improvement initiatives.
  • Acts as a bridge between customers, field organizations, and engineering teams by delivering technical expertise, documentation, and advanced troubleshooting support.
  • Focuses on improving product performance, reliability, uptime, and customer satisfaction worldwide.

What you'll be doing?

  • Participate in new tool builds, system integration activities, and first-tool startups at customer sites.
  • Create and maintain hardware, service, installation, and troubleshooting procedures for field deployment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure field requirements and serviceability considerations are integrated into product designs.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for complex field escalations and product issues.
  • Analyze technical data and field performance trends to identify opportunities for reliability and productivity improvements.
  • Apply engineering judgment, structured problem-solving, and field experience to resolve technical challenges.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, stability, and operational excellence.

What you should have?

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in semiconductor equipment, product support, field service, systems engineering, or related technical functions.
  • Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, robotics, automation, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Proven experience managing complex technical escalations and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause investigation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with global stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, proactive team player with a passion for technology and continuous learning.
  • Ability to work independently within structured processes while delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
