About Us


HandsOn Systems Ltd is a Malta-based technology company specialising in GPS tracking, fleet management, telematics, IoT and smart technology solutions.


We are currently looking for experienced GPS & Telematics Installation Technicians to join our Technical Department in Malta.


This is not a mechanical automotive position. We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience in vehicle electrical systems, GPS tracker installation, telematics devices, vehicle cameras, sensors and automotive electronic equipment.


Selected candidates who require authorisation to work in Malta may be supported by HandsOn Systems with their Malta Single Permit (Work Permit) application, subject to the applicable requirements and approval by the Maltese authorities.


Key Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be responsible for:


  • Installing and servicing GPS tracking and telematics devices in cars, vans, trucks, commercial vehicles and other mobile assets.
  • Identifying suitable vehicle wiring points for power, ignition, ground and other required connections.
  • Installing and connecting GPS trackers, vehicle cameras, sensors and other telematics equipment.
  • Carrying out professional vehicle wiring, cable routing, connections and equipment mounting.
  • Testing GPS devices after installation and confirming correct communication with the tracking platform.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults related to GPS devices, wiring, power supply, connectivity and vehicle electronics.
  • Installing and configuring different types of fleet management and IoT equipment.
  • Removing, replacing, upgrading and maintaining existing tracking equipment.
  • Using multimeters and other diagnostic tools during installations and troubleshooting.
  • Ensuring installations are completed safely, neatly and without damage to the vehicle.
  • Providing technical feedback and reporting installation issues to the Technical Supervisor.
  • Attending technical training on new GPS, telematics and IoT products when required.
  • Travelling to customer locations across Malta to carry out installations and maintenance.
  • Working flexible hours when required depending on operational needs.


Candidate Requirements


We are primarily looking for candidates with experience in GPS, telematics or automotive electrical installations.


The ideal candidate should have:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in GPS tracking, telematics, automotive electrical or vehicle electronic installations.
  • Practical experience installing GPS trackers, fleet management devices, vehicle cameras, sensors or similar electronic equipment.
  • Good knowledge of 12V/24V vehicle electrical systems.
  • Ability to identify vehicle power, ignition and ground connections.
  • Experience with vehicle wiring, cable routing, crimping, connectors and electrical installation work.
  • Ability to use a multimeter and basic electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Good troubleshooting skills for electrical, electronic and connectivity-related problems.
  • Understanding of vehicle electrical systems and basic automotive electronics.
  • Diploma or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electronics, Automotive Electrical Systems, Electronics or a related field would be preferred.
  • Basic computer and smartphone skills for device configuration and testing.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Clean police conduct certificate.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to relocate to Malta, Europe.
