We’re looking for a recent master’s or PhD graduate to join AWOL in Wānaka for a six-month R&D project.

The role sits at the intersection of engineering, computational design, 3D and AI, working with our vehicle and component CAD to develop new digital tools and workflows.

We’re particularly interested in people with backgrounds in computer science, software engineering, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, computational design, computer graphics or related fields.

Experience with tools such as Grasshopper, Blender, Python, CAD or realtime 3D would be useful, but we’re more interested in how you think and solve technical problems.

The role is full-time and based onsite with us in Wānaka. We can help make relocation practical for the right person.

The position is intended to be supported through MBIE’s R&D Career Grant, so applicants will need to meet the relevant recent master’s/PhD eligibility requirements.
