Job Posting Date: 3 Aug 2026 Function: Location: Overview of the Role We are seeking a motivated Graduate Metallurgist to join our Port Pirie team as part of our Graduate Program starting in February 2027. This exciting role will provide you with hands-on experience to develop your technical expertise while contributing to meaningful initiatives that optimise metallurgical processes. You will work collaboratively with various teams at our site to improve operational efficiency, support production targets, and resolve process challenges. Location: Port Pirie, South Australia Contract Type : Fixed Term – 2 years Reports To: Technical Manager Key Responsibilities In this dynamic and challenging role, you will: Monitor and optimise metallurgical processes to enhance plant efficiency and production outcomes. Conduct analysis and provide technical recommendations to improve process stability and consistency. Collaborate with operational, maintenance, and technical teams to identify and implement process improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot metallurgical and operational issues to maintain high standards in production quality and efficiency. Collect, analyse, and report operational data to identify trends and facilitate continuous improvement decisions. Support safe work practices and ensure compliance with Nyrstar’s safety, health, and environmental policies. About You To thrive in this role, you will bring: Education & Certifications: A degree in Metallurgical, Process, or Chemical Engineering (required).
