Graphic Designer I

Job Overview: As a Graphic Design Artist I you will play a key role in bringing our Beast Academy practice books to life, converting them to full color and updating them to our new design templates. This role is a 2-Year Temporary, Full-Time position and an opportunity to make an immediate, meaningful impact as we scale the teams inspiring the next generation of problem solvers. The Graphic Designer I will: Create graphic designs and assets for print materials Collaborate effectively with the requesting departments, teams, and individuals through all phases of the design process Perform image retouching and manipulation as necessary Create designs and materials that are consistent with existing materials, templates, style guides, brand identity, as well as updating materials across multiple AoPS entities to create a consistent identity Organize and manage files so that they can be easily found for future projects and updates Act as a creative resource for other teams providing unique artistic and design solutions to solve complex problems The ideal candidate has: A bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field, or equivalent graphic design experience An understanding of design principles, including layout, typography, and color theory; basic illustration skills a plus The ability to communicate clearly and collaborate on a team A high level of skill with the Adobe creative suite with a particular emphasis on Adobe InDesign.; familiarity with Clip Studio is a plus Strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet deadlines A strong portfolio of web and/or print design The ability to work in a team setting Why Join AoPS: This is a hybrid full-time position based at our headquarters in San Diego, CA. The hiring salary range for this position is 65k-75k. About AoPS: Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) is on a mission to discover, inspire, and train the great problem solvers of the next generation. Since 2003, we have trained hundreds of thousands of the country's top students, including nearly all the members of the US International Math Olympiad team, through our online school, in-person academies, textbooks, and online learning systems. While our primary focus has been math for most of our history, through the years we have expanded our unique problem solving curriculum into more subjects, such as language arts, science, and computer science.
