This hands-on role is responsible for carrying out halal slaughter in accordance with approved religious requirements, animal welfare standards, food safety procedures and workplace health and safety obligations. Working as part of the production team, you will help maintain an efficient, respectful and compliant processing operation.

Your responsibilities:

• Perform halal slaughter in line with approved halal certification requirements.
• Follow animal welfare, hygiene, food safety and quality procedures.
• Use knives and processing equipment safely and effectively.
• Complete required checks and report any non-conformance promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe and respectful work area.
• Work collaboratively to meet production and quality targets.

About you:

• Practising Muslim who is eligible to perform halal slaughter under the relevant certification requirements.
• Previous slaughtering, meat-processing or knife-hand experience is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of animal welfare and halal principles.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced processing environment.
• Reliable, safety-focused and able to work effectively in a team.
• Available for rostered shifts and able to meet all site-entry requirements.
