Job Description
Our partner is looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to take ownership of complex board designs from initial architecture through schematic capture, layout review, prototype build and production.
This is a practical engineering role with full design responsibility. You will define board architecture, select components, establish electrical and layout requirements, and work closely with SI, PI, power, thermal, mechanical and firmware teams to ensure the design is ready for bring-up and manufacturing.
You will remain responsible for the board throughout its lifecycle, including design reviews, prototype feedback, ECOs, respins and production improvements.

Responsibilities
Own board architecture and schematic design
Define block partitioning, interfaces and power architecture
Design power trees, sequencing, clocking and reset
Select components based on electrical, thermal, cost and supply requirements
Own BOM decisions, second sourcing and obsolescence risks
Define PCB stackup, placement and routing constraints
Review PCB layouts against SI, PI and thermal requirements
Define keep outs and critical routing requirements
Perform circuit simulation and worst case analysis
Build timing, interface and electrical budgets
Lead formal hardware design reviews
Manage ECOs, revisions and board respins
Support prototype builds and hardware bring-up
Incorporate validation and field feedback into new revisions
Work with manufacturing partners through NPI and production
Requirements
5+ years of complex digital board design experience
Server, data centre, networking or similar hardware background
Proven schematic ownership from concept to production
Experience with complex multilayer PCBs
Strong digital and mixed signal design knowledge
Power tree and sequencing experience
Clock, reset and level shifting knowledge
Experience with high speed interface design
Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, Altium, Xpedition or equivalent
Ability to define and review PCB layout constraints
Strong schematic and layout review skills
Experience with multiple board revisions and ECOs
Experience supporting designs through production
