Job Description Summary
GE Vernova Gas Power is the backbone of the energy transition, and our Heavy Duty Services (HDS) ITR Engineering team is the engine driving that progress for existing power plants. As we prepare to double our volume over the next three years, we are not just scaling; we are transforming. We are looking for an Engineering Transformation & AI Strategy Leader to architect the next generation of our engineering fulfillment. This role is the mission-critical architect of our future operating model. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead the fundamental redesign of our wing-to-wing engineering processes. Your mandate is twofold: aggressively optimize our current state-of-the-art tools and methodologies while simultaneously spearheading our multi-year transformation journey to compress our proposal cycle from 15 days to 1 and drive a 50% reduction in project labor hours. Success in this role requires a rare blend of deep technical engineering expertise, a visionary grasp of AI/ML integration, and the relentless drive to challenge the status quo.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Integrated Transformation & Improvement Roadmap: Serve as the strategic director for both our incremental productivity roadmap and our overall transformation journey. Own the vision for our future engineering workflow, ensuring that near-term enhancements to existing tools and methodologies serve as the foundation for long-term AI-augmented capabilities.
- AI & Automation Architecture: Lead the conceptualization, design, and governance of advanced plant design solutions. Define the architectural standards for AI/ML integration within our fulfillment pipeline, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with our rigorous engineering standards.
- Operational Synergy: Provide leadership and strategic guidance to the Lean Leader embedded within the team. Align Lean initiatives with digital transformation efforts to ensure that our process improvements are synchronized with the implementation of new AI-driven capabilities and overall improvement roadmaps.
- Requirements & Implementation Rigor: Translate complex engineering pain points and operational requirements into structured Business Requirements Documents (BRDs). Partner with IT, Digital Technologies, and AI development teams to translate these requirements into reality, ensuring a seamless user experience from pilot to global scale.
- Performance & KPI Transformation: Define and track the "transformation dashboard." Establish clear metrics for cycle time reduction, labor hour efficiency, and AI tool adoption. Use data-driven insights to surface risks, refine solution behavior, and hold the organization accountable to committed business outcomes.
- Culture of Innovation & Adoption: Build organic support for new ways of working across our 500+ person global organization. Develop playbooks, training materials, and enablement content to ensure our engineers are empowered by—not just using—our new digital and AI tools.
- Executive Leadership & Alignment: Facilitate working sessions, stakeholder reviews, and decision forums. Provide the GM and leadership staff with clear, action-oriented updates on transformation scope, schedule, and financial impacts, ensuring total alignment across the business.
- Team Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of transformation specialists. Champion a culture of continuous learning, provide clear career pathing, and ensure the organization is developing the cross-functional technical skills necessary to sustain our long-term transformation strategy.

- Executive Presence: Ability to synthesize complex technical, financial, and digital data into clear, decision-ready messaging for senior leadership.
- Collaborative Leadership: Thrives in a matrixed environment; builds trust across functions and aligns teams around complex tradeoffs to deliver measurable business impact.
