Inside the Role

The New Truck Pricing (NTP) team is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and consistent pricing strategies across the U.S. and Canada. This includes data book pricing, option pricing, and transaction pricing methodologies that support our field sales teams for both Freightliner and Western Star brands.

The Head of NTP leads a high-impact team that develops and executes pricing strategies in close collaboration with Sales for our Top Fleet accounts. This role is accountable for the preparation and alignment of all Top Fleet deals for presentation to DTNA’s CEO, CFO, and Senior VP of Sales during Transaction Council (TC) meetings. This position also oversees the Sales Proposal Workflow (SPW) process.

In addition, the Head of NTP leads multiple teams responsible for: Developing and maintaining retail pricing and data book pricing, strategizing pricing for strategic options, and ensuring accuracy and consistency of non-strategic option pricing

This role also manages the Pricing Business Intelligence team, which is tasked with creating and maintaining reporting tools and driving the development and implementation of DTNA’s new Pricing/Quoting Tool

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Provide strategic leadership in the development and execution of both short- and long-term sales strategies.
  • Oversee the preparation, presentation, and execution of sales proposals requiring approval from the Transaction Council (TC).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by delivering data-driven recommendations and influencing strategic commercial decisions through presentations to the CEO, CFO, and Senior Vice President of Sales.
  • Lead a team responsible for supporting regional sales transactions, including pricing strategy recommendations, concession discount approvals, and comprehensive sales and financial analysis.
  • Direct all order acquisition activities for Heavy Duty and Medium Duty products, including dealer and direct sales transactions across all regions.
  • Manage the Retail Pricing team in setting base model and option pricing for all Freightliner (FTL) and Western Star (WST) products.
  • Serve as a voting member of the Pricing Committee, representing the Sales organization.
  • Ensure all sales transactions are accurately calculated, properly authorized, and thoroughly documented.
  • Collaborate daily with sales leadership, field sales teams, and controlling to review and approve pricing proposals.
  • Engage regularly with cross-functional teams including DTR, Marketing, CAE, Purchasing, and Controlling to assess market trends and deal dynamics.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives utilizing advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and pricing technology solutions to improve decision quality, operational efficiency, and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and 10+ years of related experience required
  • Proven experience in people management, with a strong track record of developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
