Head Of Primary – Dubai
An established and highly regarded American Curriculum school in Dubai is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Primary to join its leadership team for an urgent start.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished primary leader who is passionate about teaching and learning, staff development, student achievement and creating an outstanding primary school experience.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Primary School, working closely with the Principal, senior leadership team, teachers, students and parents to drive high standards and continuous improvement.
The Role
As Head of Primary, you will:
- Provide strong academic and pastoral leadership across the Primary School.
- Lead the implementation and development of the American Curriculum.
- Monitor teaching, learning, assessment and student progress to ensure consistently high standards.
- Support, coach and develop teaching staff through effective professional development and performance management.
- Use assessment data to identify priorities and drive measurable improvements in student outcomes.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with parents and the wider school community.
- Lead curriculum planning, quality assurance and school improvement initiatives.
- Ensure safeguarding, student wellbeing and child protection remain central to school practice.
- Contribute actively to whole-school strategic planning and leadership.
Requirements
The school is looking for a highly experienced Primary leader with a proven record of success in an international or American curriculum school.
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, B.Ed. or equivalent.
- A Masters in Education or equivalent
- Significant experience in Primary education, with previous Head of Primary, Primary Principal, Assistant Principal or equivalent senior leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the American Curriculum.
- A successful track record of improving teaching, learning and student outcomes.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing, mentoring and developing teaching teams.
- The ability to work effectively within a diverse, international school community.
- A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing and inclusive education.
- Preference given to those who have worked in the GCC and have already got the UAE TLS for SLT
Previous experience in the UAE or wider Middle East is advantageous, although outstanding international candidates will be considered.
