Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospitalist to join our highly respected and collaborative Hospital Medicine team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive inpatient care during day shifts, ensuring continuity of care and delivering exceptional clinical outcomes in a patient-centered environment.

Position Highlights

• Full-time Hospitalist position
• 7-on/7-off schedule
• 12-hour shifts
• Supportive, multidisciplinary team environment
• Practice within one of the nation's leading academic health systems

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care during daytime hours, including admissions, cross-coverage, consultations, and management of acute medical conditions.
• Respond to and manage medical emergencies while exercising sound clinical judgment.
• Collaborate closely with specialists, nursing staff, advanced practice providers, case management, and ancillary services to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referring physicians to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice efforts.
• Support the education and development of residents and medical students, as applicable.

Qualifications

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Licensure & Certification

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Texas Medical License

Experience

• Previous Hospitalist or Nocturnist experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex acute inpatient medical conditions

• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities

• Commitment to patient-centered care, teamwork, and continuous professional development
